Welcome to the Green IP Charter (GIPC)
The GIPC is a collective voluntary commitment by the whole IP supply chain to accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices, reduce carbon emissions, and set industry standards for environmental responsibility within the IP sector. Through collaboration and shared action, the GIPC aims to lead the IP industry toward a more sustainable future.
Overview
The GIPC invites IP departments in corporations and law firms, governmental institutions, technology providers, and other industry players across the IP supply chain to unite in a shared commitment to develop and implement best practices that drive the IP industry toward a sustainable, eco-conscious future.
Founded by Maersk and Rouse, the GIPC promotes the reduction of environmental impact in IP operations by encouraging its members to implement sustainable practices and streamlined processes aimed at minimizing carbon footprints.

Membership
Open to all stakeholders in the IP supply chain who are committed to adopting sustainable practices. Membership is free and is granted upon signing the membership form. Members engage in bi-annual meetings and actively contribute to the collective knowledge base.
Governance
The GIPC is managed by an Advisory Board comprised of representatives from founding and member organizations. The Advisory Board is responsible for the continuous development and updating of the charter principles, as well as organizing activities relevant to its members.
